Vinification

Dry Creek Valley is located Northwest of Healdsburg in Sonoma County and is well known for the Zinfandel fruit it produces.We source our fruit from the Milligan Vineyard, which is a small 5 acre block of Old Vine Zinfandel. These vines are 50 years old & only produce 1.5 tons per acre, but of fruit that has a higher concentration of sugar & juice in each grape. 2020 was the quietest year we’ve had in the cellar since Adam began making wine in his back garden in 2006. Between the fires, smoke and COVID-19, stress levels were at an all-time high for winemakers throughout the state. 25-30% of grapes in Sonoma County alone weren’t harvested, and we lost a lot of the fruit we were contracted to receive. Luckily, our Zinfandel grapes were picked before any smoke taint damage. Once the fruit arrived in Oceanside, we destemmed and processed it on site.
